Crossroads

There was a time when we travelled together

Fights, loves, laughs and care
Now we reached the cross roads, where paths differ
I got to make my career, and leave you there
But I will never forget, cos you are the one for whom I care
I know I don’t owe you time, nor do I come for family dinner
But I know you’ll understand; first career
Soon I’ll be what I want to be, it’ll be all for you
Cos I want to see you proud when people say
‘That’s her father’
 rather than,
‘that’s his daughter’
Cos you always made me proud, now it’s my turn
I know you are from those who understand
I just want to thank you for it
And I wish you by my side ahead
I know I expect a lot
But it’s the only way I can return
I’ll strive and struggle, I don’t mind
Because I want to see you proud, saying-
“That’s my girl”
