Extra marital affair

Oh my god! Her hymen broke! Such a big deal!

He loved her he said
She loved him back
Love was perfect, marriage on its card.

Her life came crashing down,
It was his wedding night.
She sobbed,
He made love to his wife
Years relationship culminated
She was 18, and he 25
He asked for an extra marital affair
She was baffled.

She wished her parents knew
society would question her grandeur,
The guy lived happily, and slept with his wife every night
She stayed hoping for the sun and wishing to reverse.

They told her to confront his wife
"but your dignity will be gone", they said.

Stuck between society and love she was inert
"I am not a virgin", she exclaimed
"It's OK, no big deal", her friends claimed

"What a shame", they said at her back!

Breaking of hymen is not a big deal, feeling it is!
Conformism is not the problem,
Disrupting personal space is!
Society has defined its right and wrong norms,
But your morality and attitude towards those norms, Defines you!

They moved ahead

Veil over their face and travelling miles for water; ignorant and in darkness they stayed, electricity was discovered brightening their lives and educating their souls, sarees switched to ethnic wear and soon 25%reservation, scholarships and travelling abroad; they became independent, skirts and club visits but their morals never changed.
And along with them one thing remained the same- eve teasing didn't take a backseat; neither did rape.
