A Day in Your Shoes

Your day starts at 6 a.m.
Making breakfasts, Tiffin then office ,
Tired you come home; after a hectic day,
Scowls of your boss and dissent with your colleagues
You leave it there and enter dwelling,
Brother screams for food, dad discusses finance,
Through all of it you prepare dinner.
And while you rest in front of your favourite serial-
Daughter hops in searching for uniforms and doubts you have to clear,
Taking their studies and proofreading their homework
You lie on bed tired…
Still you do no work...
You take those sarcasms and taunts when food isn’t proper but mom-
It’s because they haven’t seen hunger
A day without you, a step in your shoes,
And we know you’re a diamond in the rug-
Nobody can swap.
You’ll grow old and we’ll get busy,
We never know if life snatches our chance so let’s just proclaim it loud and clear to you and the world-

“I love you momma”
