Mettle of delinquents

They were on the bike.
Two felons came beside.
He drove faster, she fastened her purse.
Felons matched their pace. The second guy threw a rope with a hook tied at its end. It got entangled on her purse.
Her face turned pale.
Their speed o meter showed 80kms. The road wasn’t empty, it was a sunny afternoon but nobody came to help.
“Leave”, she screamed
He yanked her purse.
She grasped it. He pulled it more. She didn’t leave it.
It went like a tug of war.
The handle of the purse broke and it fell on the road.
They fled.

This incident took place on a highway in Mumbai on a sunny afternoon- a crowded place; with a lot of cars and bikes witnessing this but none came forward to help.
Why? Because they were nobody to you? What if one of them would have fallen? That’s the value of life?
Questions remain unanswered.
Alcohols are distributed in huts for votes and the people who rule our country are elected with the help of drunkards. So eventually we know where we are heading.
Their daring is on the rise. Number of such cases goes unreported everyday- chain snatching; pick pocketing is the door to the dark ugly world of obscurity.
These are not petty issues, if we don’t stop them today, life will be petrifying tomorrow.
